Light X Reader - Part 10

“________” Wake up, you’ll miss breakfast!” Mrs. Yagami turned on the lights. Sitting up with your messy (h/c) hair and bloodshot eyes you moaned “to…early…”
“Come on now; don’t be grouchy like you have been these last couple days.”
“Okay, okay, sorry.” You said climbing out of bed half asleep. With no boys in the house you could go down stairs without worrying about looking ‘decent’. That was one of the few good things. When you got down stairs you could smell the fresh cooked eggs and pancakes. You made your way to the table. “Here you go _______!” Sayu said bringing over a plate and a glass of orange juice. She sat the food down then went to get herself some, accidentally hitting the glass causing it to fall down. Now your new pajamas were ruined. “Oh no! I’m so sorry ________!” Sayu said as she quickly grabbed a towel. You sigh “No, it’s alright. We can all be clumsy…” You went upstairs to change then came back down to finish eating. When you finished you decided to take a walk, it always helped your heart seeing the flowers. Looking around the park you now were sitting in you felt your heart break. You  had just remembered that it was the 50th day Light was gone. You began to remember the first time you met him, the first time you fell in love with him.

It was middle school. You were one of the unnoticed; the ones others thought were outcasts. You were walking in the hall, deep in thought, when one of the popular girls stopped you. “_______! Are those new clothes?” She asked with a sly smile that went unnoticed by you. You noticed that were voice had sounded nice though. “Y-yeah! I, um, got them yesterday…” You said smiling your beautiful shy smile. You were getting noticed… “Cool! I guess I’m going to enjoy this then~!” Her voice had changed into a devilish sound. You backed away when she reached over and grabbed you shirt. She pulled you over then slapped you across the face. “You’re just a little idiot…” She had said, ripping your shirt in the process. You fell down then she walked over pulling back her foot. Her foot was aimed towards your face. Then, Light had shown up. “STOP!” You heard him yell. He ran to you, bending down to examine your swollen face. “Are you alright _______?” He pulled you up and you latched onto him. You didn’t know him, but he was helping you, and you were scared. He hugged you back, still yelling at the girl “I’m going to take you to the principal’s office! _______ will tell him what you did!” Light looked down at you and noticed your torn shirt. A huge blush started creeping up on his face, but he didn’t pull you off. When he looked back up the girl was gone. “Come on ______, she’s gone. We’ll get you cleaned up at the nurse’s office…” You nodded letting go of him. He took your hand and led you to the school office.

You smiled as a tear fell down your face. So many people have been killed by the new Kira. Light doesn’t remember anything now, so it’s just Kira. You laughed a little at how much you hated Kira before you knew it was Light. Light really was the perfect guy, he’s always there when you need him. Well, not right now. You needed him right now…
RING
You looked at the phone. It was Light! Quickly you answered the phone.
“L-Light…?” You said, tears streaming down your face.
“I’m so glad I can talk to you _______! It was crazy! I don’t know why I did such a stupid thing… Today, Dad took Misa and I out, he said we were going to our execution but he pulled off the bridge… He said he was going to kill me, then him…”
“Oh my god! Light! Is your dad crazy or something?!”
“No, it was a test set up by L…”
This is L… The memory shocked you from when you first came to Light’s.
“L…?”
“Yeah, I just can’t wait to get home…”
“A-and when’s that?”
“I don’t know…”
You heard someone interrupt Light in the background “Light, I’m afraid you have get off the phone”
“Oh ok, I have to go ________...”
“Oh… okay… Light?”
“Yeah?”
“I, um, I love you” You chocked out those three meaningful words.
“I love you too” He said then hung up the phone.
You had told Light what you’ve wanted to for so long, and he returned it. This day wasn’t as bad as you thought it was.
